Chico State Men's Soccer Notches Two Huge Regional Wins, Wildcat Volleyball off to hot start......

Last year the Chico State Volleyball team won three matches all year. This weekend they won three of four at the Stanislaus State Invitational and are off to a great start for the 2023 season.

The Wildcats completed a fantastic weekend with a sweep of Western New Mexico on Saturday moving to 3-1 on the season.

The Cats will begin conference play on September 15th when they take on CSLA in Los Angeles.

It is a great start to the season for the Chico State men's soccer team. The Wildcats beat the Western Washington Vikings on Saturday by a score of 2-0. The Cats beat Seattle Pacific on Thursday by that same score.....Miles Rice was back in the scoring column assisting on a Noah Ross goal in the 8th minutes and then scoring his 3rd goal of the season in the 13th minute.

Chico gets two important regional wins in the first weekend of the regular season.

Chico will travel to British Columbia to take on Simon Fraser and St. Martins this coming weekend

After a thrilling win on Friday against Regis University in their season opener 2-1....the Chico State Women's Soccer team was overwhelmed by Colorado School of the Mines on Sunday. The Orediggers scored in the 28th, 31st and 43rd minutes of the 1st half to beat Chico State 4-0.

Mines outshot 14-2 in the 1st half and 25-7 for the contest. Chico moves to 1-1 and will host Central Washington on Thursday and Seattle Pacific on Saturday in big regional match-ups.....both matches begin at 7pm at University Stadium

The college football season is in full swing with a number of top-25 teams being upset in Week One.  On Sunday night, number-eight Florida State dominated number-five LSU 45-24 in the Camping World Kickoff in Orlando.  Number-24 Texas Tech was also upset in its season opener.  The Red Raiders fell 35-33 to the Wyoming Cowboys in double-overtime.  Deion Sanders put the nation on notice in his head coaching debut for Colorado.  The Buffaloes spoiled number-16 TCU's home opener with a 45-42 victory in Fort Worth.  Week One of the college football season wraps up on Monday night when number-nine Clemson visits Duke at Wallace Wade Stadium.

Seth Brown and Ryan Noda notched two-run homers in the sixth inning to erase a three-run deficit and propel the Athletics to a 10-6 win over the Los Angeles Angels at the Oakland Coliseum.  Tony Kemp and Shea Langeliers also totaled two RBI as Oakland swept a team for just the third time this season.  Francisco Perez earned his first win in relief, while Trevor May recorded his 17th save.  The A's have won three straight to improve to 42-and-95.  Angels reliever Jose Soriano was charged with his first loss after he allowed six runs, four earned, in just one-third of an inning.  Eduardo Escobar and Luis Rengifo [[ ren-HEE-fo ]] homered as LA fell to 64-and-73.
