I have grown up as a Chicago Bulls fan. I was spoiled as a kid to see the second of the three-peats that the Bulls had in the 90’s. That’s why to my surprise I found myself rooting for the Warriors this year, despite the fact that they were aiming to beat the record of the first Bulls team that I truly watched. Going into to game 7 of the finals, I have a message for Warrior fans, to quote future hall of famer and Chico native Aaron Rodgers, “RELAX.”
As I watched game 6 the other night, I thought about the Bulls teams of the 90’s. Despite winning 6 championships, the playoffs were always a grind. The 91 and 96 teams were the only ones that breezed through the playoffs. Watching the Warriors battle and stay in a game where they were playing a driven team, and refs that seemed to want a game 7, I thought to myself, they are going to be fine. After Steph got ejected, I felt even better. The emotion he showed was missing throughout the series, and with one of a thousand LeBrick James flops it was back. Sometimes even the best athletes in the world need that little extra, and that in my opinion was it for Curry.
I told Baca after game 3, that the Warriors would win game 4 by 10 and Steph would have 30, and I nailed that one pretty well. With that being said, the Warriors will win game 7 by at least 7 and Steph and Klay are going to go crazy. I feel 40 each, but I will say at least 30 each.
You play all year for game 7 at home for all the marbles, especially when you have the best NBA record of all-time. The Warriors will not lose this game, so Warrior fans, sit back and “RELAX.”
