Warriors blitz past Kings despite Casspi’s career night

(AP) — Stephen Curry overcame a slow start to score 23 points as part of his sixth career triple-double and the Golden State Warriors won for the 29th time in 30 games this season, 122-103 over the Sacramento Kings on Monday night.

Curry added a career-high 14 rebounds and 10 assists, Klay Thompson scored 29 and Draymond Green had 25 for the Warriors, who have won 33 straight regular-season home games. Thompson said Steve Kerr had to give the Warriors a pep talk at halftime…..

Omri Casspi scored a career-high 36 points, tying Mike Bibby’s team record with nine 3-pointers for Sacramento. But the Kings still lost their 11th straight against their Northern California rivals.

Kings star center Demarcus Cousins was ejected from the game in the early third quarter after arguing with officials over picking up his fifth foul. The Warriors countered his ejection with a 16-0 run and the Kings would never get closer than 12 points the rest of the way.

NBA Finals rematch as Warriors and Cavaliers tangle at Oracle

By Mike Baca

A Christmas day clash is capturing the imaginations of basketball fans as the 26-1 Golden State Warriors host the Cleveland Cavaliers at Oracle Arena on Christmas Day. The Warriors disposed of the short-handed Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA Finals in June. Cleveland was missing power-forward Kevin Love (separated shoulder) and point guard Kyrie Irving (fractured knee cap) in the Finals and eventually the Warriors depth wore down LeBron and his mates.

NBA fans have been pointed toward this match-up for weeks as they Warriors steam-rolled through the league winning 24 straight games. Cleveland has had an up and down start to their season but is now hitting its stride as Irving has just returned to the line-up after six months of rehabilitating his knee.

A Finals preview ? We shall see. One thing is for sure. The Warriors have the hardware and the Cavaliers want to show the Warriors what might have happened if they were healthy.

Game time is 2 pm buckle up
