Former Chico State Star talks about harrowing run for life in Vegas

Dave Mallas is considered one of the great Chico State baseball players of all time. As a member of the 1997 National Championship Wildcat baseball team, he was instrumental in the Wildcats bringing home the crown for the first time in school history.

Entering his 14th season as head baseball coach at Los Angeles Valley Community College, Mallas was looking to spend a celebratory birthday weekend in Las Vegas for his wife, Ginger, a former Chico State soccer player. What the Mallas’ would experience though, would change their lives forever.
