After a brutal two and a half week stretch where the Chico Heat played in five different cities over a 15 days stretch, they finally return home to play in front of their home fans.
Chico dropped 7-of-the-12 games they played, which is good considering injuries to the heart of their order. BYU product and WCC Freshman of the Year Keaton Kringlen fouled a ball off of his shin early on the trip and has been out of the line-up for more than a week. UC Davis product Cameron Olson is also nursing some injuries and has not been available as well. This has led to some make-shift line-ups and has forced Heat manager Fred Ludwig to piece things together.
As the Heat heal they also now get to return home. Chico will play 19 of their next 25 games at home and will not have to make the lengthy trip to Oregon until August. This will certainly be their chance to get right back in the Great West League race.
