Stop the Nonsense

By. Michael Vislosky

I lay here at 11:30 this Monday night, my 2 month old asleep in his bassinet, my wife and dog asleep in bed, and I am on ESPN like most nights. Today is different though, today is that day after Prince James finally won something some what on his own. Every article is all about LeBron, as it should be, and the Warriors collapse. Not all of these articles are about the game though, many are trying to compare LeBron  to Michael, and now compare the Warriors to the 96 Bulls again. As I lay here I get more and more mad as I see what people say in the articles and on the message boards. So I’m going to give my opinion, I mean that is the point of having your own blog right?

First lets talk about Michael and LeBrick, sorry I mean LeBron. 6-0 vs 3-4. End of story.  I do not care about anything else. I hear people everyday say that LeBron is clearly the best, look at the era he plays in compared to Michael, well let’s. Anybody who wants to say that league is tougher now, does not have any clue what they are talking about. Do your homework, be a true fan of the game. Many of today’s stars would not be on teams in the 90’s. LeBron would be a star if he played in the 90’s without question, but if Michael played today he would still be Michael.  Michael might have more rings if he played today. The way games are called today, Michael would shoot 25 free throws a game! LeBron complains everytime he gets hit, let’s see how he would have felt playing the Knicks, the Pacers, even the Heat of the 90’s. LeBron is an all-time great yes, but please stop comparing him to Michael, that shipped sailed years ago.

Number 2, the Warriors vs the 96 Bulls. As I said in my last blog, I found myself rooting for the Dubs this year despite the fact that they were chasing my childhood team. That being said, there is no comparison between the teams, the Bulls would beat them 10 out of 10 series. I read message boards today saying that the Bulls in today’s game would win 50 games! I mean really? The Bulls today would have won 75. People were trying to say that the NBA was watered down in the 90’s! Please people be smarter then this, do not be prisoners of the moment. Today’s NBA is a joke compared to back in the day. You have a 76ers team who is younger then this years National Championship winning team! With all the one and dones in the NBA today it’s the Pacific Ocean! I am not taking away from what the Warriors did this year, I am just tired of reading comments from people who are ignorant to the history of a game I love. Each era is different, but if you are going to make comments, at least take the time to understand what it is you are talking about.

I am not and never will be a fan of LeBron. I was spoiled to watch Michael. I was spoiled to watch art on a hardwood floor. Michael didn’t go join his friends who had championships already, he took his beatings then destroyed everyone in his path, after trying a different sport as well. That being said, congratulations to LeBron and the Cavs for ending 50 years of hardship in Cleveland. To the victors go the spoils.
