Get to know your 2016 Chico Heat !!!

We are two days away from the inaugural season of Great West League and the 2016 Chico Heat season. With every new team the fans need a cheat sheet and we have attempted to provide one for the loyal Heat fans. Remember these are college baseball players that still have eligibility at their respective schools. The GWL is a summer wood bat league that helps these players develop and showcase their skills for scouts……Here are your 2016 Chico Heat

Keaton Kringlen- FR BYU University. Kringlen was just named the WCC Freshman of the year after hitting .369 with 5 HR and 34 RBI. Kringlen scored 32 runs and had an OBP of .442.

Josh Goldberg- SO San Jose State. Goldberg had a 4-1 record out of the bullpen for the Spartans. Goldberg struck out 18 in 33 innings pitched and also picked up a couple of saves.

Web Charles- FR Youngstown State. Charles headed to Youngstown after playing high school ball at Bishop Minogue High School in Reno. Charles is a shortstop who got 16 starts for the Penguins. He drove in three runs and had a couple of doubles for Youngstown

Stuart Bradley- JR Chico State. Bradley was vital piece to the Wildcats bullpen. The Yuba City native went 6-2 with a 3.19 ERA. Bradley struck out 31 in 42 innings out of Chico State’s pen.

Kyle Detwiler- Hawaii Pacific. Detwiler went 6-1 with a 2.77 ERA. Detwiler pitched primarily out of the bullpen appearing in 14 games this season. Opponents only hit .226 against Detwiler this season.\

Jerome Hill II- JR Dixie State. Hill started 40 games and patrolled center field for the TrailBlazers. He hit .309 while driving in 19 runs. Hill scored 37 runs and stole 9 bases. Hill had a sparkling .991 fielding percentage in center field committing only one error all season.

Cameron Olson- SR UC Davis. Olson is an outfielder for the Aggies hitting .273 with 5 HR and 28 RBI. Olson had 23 extra base hits for Davis and also picked up 6 steals.

Josh Falco- JR Chico State. Falco was a middle of the line up hitter for the Wildcats all year. Falco hit .324 while driving in 33 runs. Falco had 11 doubles, 3 triples and an on base percentage of .410

Andrew Pratt- FR New Mexico. Pratt got 20 starts for New Mexico as a freshman. Pratt hit .325 with 4 HR, seven doubles and drove in 13. Pratt didn’t commit an error in his 29 appearances

Matt Villalobos- JR New Mexico. Villalobos has pitched out of the bullpen for New Mexico. He appeared in 10 games pitching 14 innings and striking out 7

Joe Raymond- FR Dixie State. Raymond played a reserve role for Dixie in 2016. He helped Dixie make it to the NCAA D-II regionals appearing in 4 games on the year.

Tanner Tokunaga– FR Hawaii Pacific. Tokunaga started all 50 games for HPU. He hit .343 while driving in 27 runs. Tokunaga had 11 doubles and five triples. He also drew a team high 31 walks and had an on base percentage of .447

Jake Wilk– FR Puget Sound. Wilk was a utility player for Puget Sound. He appeared in five games for the Loggers.

Daniel Schneeman– FR BYU University. Schneeman  appeared in 35 games for the Cougars. He hit .318 driving in 10 runs and scoring 20 runs. The Chula Vista native had an on base percentage of .373

Michael Starcevich– SO Indian Hills Community College (No stats available)

Colin Cicere- FR Indian Hills Community College (No stats available)

Jacob Westerman- FR New Mexico. Westerman is an outfielder for New Mexico and has appeared in 19 games. Westerman has had a couple of knocks and driven in two runs.

Johnathan Frost– SO Wayland Baptist University. Frost started 8 games for Wayland Baptist and compiled a 5-1 record with a 3.66 ERA. Opponents only hit .237 against Frost and he allowed only  59 hits in 64 innings pitched while striking out 35.

John White– JR University of Redlands. White was a key piece for Redlands out of their bullpen. White went 4-2 with a 1.67 ERA. White had 3 saves. White struck out 44 hitters in only 32.1 innings. He held opponents to a .242 batting average.

Joel Lamont-FR New Mexico Highlands. Lamont started 14 games for Highlands. He compiled a 3-6 record with a 4.60 ERA. Lamont tossed two complete games struck out 81 hitters in 76.1 innings.

Miles Bice– JR Dixie State. Bice was another key component to the TrailBlazers NCAA D-II regional run. Bice started 47 games hitting .352 driving in 28 runs and compiling a .401 on base percentage. Bice struck out ONLY six times in 165 at-bats

David Noworyta– R-FR University of Hawii. Noworyta saw limited action for Hawaii in the 2016 campaign getting three hits and driving in a run for the Bows…

Jake Nelson– R-FR New Mexico University. Nelson saw action out of the Lobos bullpen  pitching six innings and giving up only 3 earned runs.

Luke Soroko- University of Arizona (No stats)

Ryan Byrd– FR Spokane Falls Community College. Byrd appeared in 11 games and started 4 contests. In 33.1 innings pitched Byrd struck out 25. He went 1.1 with a 4.05 ERA

Clayton Hubbard– Cal State Northridge (No stats)

Brock Bell– Cal State Northridge (No stats)

Adam Davenport- FR Washington Huskies (No stats)
