Looking Forward to NFL 2016

By. Michael Vislosky

The 2015 NFL season is over and with it possibly one of the greatest careers in NFL history. Peyton Manning with the help of an amazing defense won the second Super Bowl of his career. The quarterback who most people believe will be the face of the NFL for years to come, lost and reverted back to some of his childish behavior after. Now some 4 days after the season we look forward to next year and what that will bring.

The firings and hirings have been done and one coach who was fired will be here in California coaching the San Francisco 49ers. Chip Kelly will bring his up tempo offense to Santa Clara but who will be the quarterback? Will Colin Kapernick get to prove his doubters wrong? In my opinion, I do not think he will. This is for better or worse, Blaine Gabbert’s job at this point. Let’s not forget he was a top 5 pick just a few years ago so there is potential there. Chip Kelly’s offense may be just what he needs.

The 2016 season will also bring football back to LA. The Rams will be playing at the Los Angeles Colesium for the next couple seasons, and hope that they themselves bring a quarterback with them. The trade for Nick Foles last offseason did not work out as planned and has some LA greats asking for Mr. Manning to play one more year. I think Foles has potential, and having a running back who has one heck of a career in front of him will help immensely.

Last but not least, I have to talk of my team, the New York Jets. Yes the season ended in the worst way I could have imagined, but next year beams a bright light. After they sign Ryan Fitzpatrick and lock up the defensive line, they will most likely lose their starting backfield. My hope is that they draft a running back and some offensive line help, and if they do, they should be in the playoffs. They will have a tougher schedule this year and much more travel as they play the NFC West, but as a fan I have never felt more confident in the future of a team as I do this one.

I wish that I could wake up tomorrow and it was September, but I guess I will just have to wait patiently as the days go by. That patience will then be rewarded as the New York Jets will be holding the Lombardi trophy after they defeat the Arizona Cardinals 24-14 to win Super Bowl 51. Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the MVP, and Fitz Magic will become the trend throuout the world.
